In 61 days, the International Cannes Film

Festival will open for its 70th season. The featured films and celebrities attending the event will be announced during the traditional mid-April press conference.

With the selection committee currently busy viewing hundreds of films, the event is preparing to welcome the promising films and directors of the future, in the spirit of hospitality which has been its founding value since 1939 and 1946. This year’s array includes international films within the Official Selection, tomorrow’s budding talents at Cannes Short Film and the Cinéfondation, film industry professionals at the Marché du Film, the public at Cannes Cinéphiles, and classic films and documentaries on the history of cinema at Cannes Classics, which will also celebrate the history of the Festival.

Meanwhile, the red carpet is ready to celebrate the artists who bring the cinema to life around the world from 17-28 May.

Echoing Fellini and Tarantino, soon everyone will be proclaiming: “LONG LIVE THE CINEMA!”
